Holiable's review of Anona Restaurant
Located in the 17th district of Paris, Anona Restaurant is a few steps away from Batignolles and easily accessible by metro, bus or bike.
After working in some very reputable starred restaurants in France & Europe, Thibaut Spiwack chose to create his restaurant with the idea of translating and sharing his philosophy of life in his menu.
The young chef, who would "live in the middle of a field if he could", used his vision for sustainability and environmental protection as the motto for the development of his restaurant from the interior design to the menu and the drinks.
Open in May 2019, Anona, which’s name derives from the Annona fruit also known as custard apple, is a gastronomic restaurant, where nature, local, organic and seasonal produce are the stars in the kitchen.
Eco designed and ethically managed
The restaurant offers a crisp and elegant design, where a blend of large tables come alongside more intimate alcoves.
The eco-friendly philosophy of the chef, guided the interior design of the restaurant, for the dining room as well as the kitchen.
All the material chosen for the decor is locally sourced and designed in Ile-de-France apart from the green marble bar sourced in Italy.
The restaurant uses green energy, converted from gas to induction stoves to save energy, has smart water management for the kitchen operations, uses green cleaning products, reduces food waste to a minimum and composts all the organic waste.

Expect a creative menu, where the produce are sublimated to reveal their taste.
Anona is a gastronomic restaurant which proposes two different formulas at lunch or in the evening.
The daily market menu at lunch proposes a starter/main formula around 25€ or a three-course market menu for 29€.
The à la carte seasonal menu has vegan options from starter to dessert.
In the evening, the Chef invites you to follow him through a discovery menu in 5 dishes or a full cuisine experience in 7 courses. Both come with a food & drinks pairing experience, where biodynamic wines and other organic drinks are at the honor. A great way to experience the full philosophy of the chef’s cuisine.
We experienced Anona through the discovery menu an evening of August.
The food and drink experience was a succession of beautiful plates to look at, and a delight for the palate.
A fabulous example, that chefs can source their produce from sustainable sources and offer a gastronomic and creative cuisine to their guests.
The philosophy of the chef is shared by the entire team of the restaurant, who pride themselves in highlighting the story and the terroir of each product they serve.
We appreciated the atmosphere, the professionalism, and simplicity of the service, as well as the availability of the Chef who greets each table and spends a moment to share his vision or talk about the dinner experience.
