Serving food all day and crafting all the dishes on the menu from scratch (from bread, to butter and cream), the house’s philosophy is to drastically limit imported foods in the restaurant.
From October to May, all produce are supplied by a network of local organic farmers, which’s product’s can also be found at Dubai Farmer’s supported by Baker & Spice.
Filtered water is free, no imported soda”s on the menu and a 100% organic wine list accompany the seasonal menu which changes regularly according to the supplies from the partner farmers.

Getting There
Located right in front of the Dubai Fountain’s, the Baker & Spice Souj Al Bahar is in a great setting for an organic treat facing the spectacular water show which takes place every half an hour in the evening.
Philosophy
At the heart of the creator’s mind in 2009 when creating an all local and organic food shop and restaurant, was to revolutionize the food and drink scene in the area.
Starting with 3 local organic farmers as partners the restaurant which now has 6 locations in the capital has created a network of over 20 farms.
All producers are familiar to the owners and have been visited, and the motto is to serve only local and organic products.
You won’t find strawberries out of season, but you will still see Advocado toasts on the menu, because it's trendy.
Imported products are only limited and when it is the case the location is studied to minimize the transport footprint to a minimum
What’s in my plate
As an all day dining eatery, you can head to Baker&Spice from Breakfast 'til late at night.
Whether you’re in the mood for an English style breaky or an organic tea time overlooking the fountains, there are options for every one.
We personnally loved our selection, and appreciated the fresh homemade iced tea topped with a straw in wheat.
Would we go back?
Definitely.
Managing to bring organic, local food in the desert could seem a huge challenge at first site in the city of the desert. And finding an eco-friendly place to eat could seem an even bigger difficulty for the numerous travellers who stop in Dubai for a short trip or in transit to the other side of the world.
Although at the time of our visit, vegetarian options were limited, we appreciated the dishes that were tasty, colourful and served with a perfect smile.
The staff was full of attention and proud to transmit the message of what makes Baker&Spice so special.
Recommended for: all organic food menu, gluten free options, breakfast with a fountain view
