Holiable's review of the Bloempot
Philosophy
Native from the French Flanders, Chef Florent Ladeyn, offers a creative locavore cuisine, a tribute to his roots and nature.
You'll eat with your eyes as much as with our taste buds.
The open kitchen, the decoration tinged with upcycled objects from the region, the dynamic and accessible team, add to the pleasure of this delightful regional cuisine.
An authentic locavore bistro
All the products used in the restaurant, come from the Chef's native land, and no further than 50 km away.
Wild local herbs replace pepper, chicory that you thought old-fashioned makes you forget about coffee.
It's a discovery of exciting flavours that you never suspected.
What's in my plate?
Bloempot is an inventive cuisine from Flanders based on the treasures of a fertile region.
You'll be invited to an "eyes closed" discovery menu, prepared according to the week's arrivals.
You'll choose either a 6 or 9-course dinner, with complete confidence, discovering the dishes as they are served.
Plates are generous, as beautiful as they are delicious, created mainly around vegetables and herbs, that awaken the taste buds.
All products are from organic or natural agriculture.
Biodynamic wines, local craftbeers or regional alcohols accompany the whole.
Our opinion
A unique and modern place, a creative and inspired cuisine, blends of explosive flavours, our experience of the Bloempot was a firework of sensations.
The chef and his team dust-off the idea that regional cuisine is outdated.
A real demonstration of what a restaurant committed to its territory is.
Suitable for: regional food, organic wines, locavore, accessible, veggie friendly
Our tip: book online only - the restaurant always keeps 1 or 2 tables available for unexpected guests
Small appetites: you may stall before the end of the nine courses.
