Holiable's review of Boaty Rent a Boat
Cruising on the canal’s of Amsterdam is a must-do activity when you are in town.
Rather than heading to the ‘overcrowded’ boats in the city centre, we found Boat Rent a Boat, and for us, it is a perfect eco-friendly alternative
How about cruising the canals, on electricity powered boats, some even being recharged by their solar roof.
What to expect
Easily accessible, the pier of Boaty Rent a Boat is a few steps away from the Okura Hotel Pier.  You’ll manage to get there by tram and will need to walk a few minutes
Once you arrive, the team will give you a map of the different routes that you can cruise. You’ll then be briefed on the essential security things to now and off you go
You’ll be able to fit up to six in the boats, and you will be your own captain.
The routes will lead you either in the central canals, which may be a bit scary at first if you’re doing your cruise on a busy weekend day
Another option is to get a little bit out of town and cruise the Amstel river. You’ll be able to see canal houses, people rowing and get an authentic feel of the canals.
Our Opinion
Boaty Rent a Boat is a great eco-friendly alternative to visit the Amsterdam canals. The silence of your e-boat will add to the pleasure of being the captain of your boat.
